Court adjourns case on alleged aiding of suicide of Uyi Technical CEO’s daughter to Feb 10

The Federal High Court sitting in Benin City has adjourned hearing till February 10, 2026, in the case involving the alleged aiding of the suicide of Mrs. Lilian Omokhuale, daughter of Mr. Omoruyi Oloton, Chief Executive Officer of Uyi Technical Limited.

The adjournment followed an oral application by the prosecution counsel, Polycarp Odion, requesting the court to issue notices for the execution of a warrant of arrest on the first defendant, Jessica Iguodala Oghomwen, in suit No. FHC/B/5C/2024, to compel her appearance on the next adjourned date.

The second and third defendants in the case are Akpes Omorodion and Esther Eguomo Oisamoje who were present in court at Wednesday's sitting

At the previous sitting, the presiding judge, Justice B. O. Quadri, had expressed displeasure over the absence of all three defendants, stressing that their non-appearance contravened the rule mandating their presence during proceedings.

Those present in court included Idemudia Osifo, Chairman of the Nigeria Bar Association (NBA), who appeared alongside Douglas Ogbankua, Uwa Okoh and Ann Okundaye for Olayinwola Afolabi, SAN, holding brief for the complainant, Mr. Omoruyi Oloton.
