Naboya Intensifies Mobilization as Parties Brace for Primaries Ahead of Edo LG Polls

BENIN CITY – As political parties in Edo State gear up for their primaries ahead of the July 11, 2026 local government election, All Progressives Congress (APC) chairmanship hopeful for Etsako Central Local Government Area, Naboya Prince Lucky Dumoh, has intensified consultations and mobilization across wards to secure the party’s nomination.

This follows the release of the timetable for the council polls by the Edo State Independent Electoral Commission (EDSIEC), which fixed party primaries and the resolution of disputes between November 10 and 29, 2025.

The EDSIEC Chairman, Mr. Jonathan Aifuobhokhan, while unveiling the timetable, assured that the Commission was fully prepared to conduct a free, fair, and credible election.

He urged all political parties to strictly adhere to the guidelines and timelines, adding that the publication of the final list of candidates would be on February 9, 2026, while campaigns would run from February 11 to July 9, 2026.

In line with this development, Naboya, the Chief Executive Officer of Naboya Prince Royal Group and son of the late Alhaji Adamu Audu Naboya, popularly known as “Go to Lagos,” has been consulting stakeholders, traditional rulers, youth groups, and party elders across Etsako Central to drum up support for his ambition.

Addressing supporters in Fugar, Naboya reiterated his commitment to transforming Etsako Central through grassroots empowerment, infrastructural renewal, and youth development, saying his aspiration was driven by a desire to offer selfless and inclusive leadership.

He appealed to APC delegates and leaders to rally behind his candidacy during the forthcoming primaries, assuring them of transparent, accountable, and people-centred governance if elected.
“Our local government deserves a new deal, a leadership that listens, serves, and delivers results. I am prepared to work with all stakeholders to make Etsako Central a model of good governance,” Naboya stated.

Party leaders and supporters at the meeting described him as a bridge-builder and philanthropist who has demonstrated capacity and compassion through years of community service and youth empowerment initiatives.

As the countdown to the primaries begins, momentum continues to build around Naboya’s candidacy, with growing calls from different quarters urging the APC to nominate him as the party’s flagbearer for the July 2026 council polls.
