UBTH rejoices with Nigerians at 65th Independence anniversary
BENIN CITY — The Management of the University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH) has extended warm felicitations to staff, students, patients, clients, and all Nigerians as the nation marked its 65th Independence anniversary.
In a goodwill message signed by the Chief Medical Director, Prof. (Mrs.) Idia Nibokun Ize-Iyamu, the hospital described the day as a reminder of the freedom and responsibility Nigerians share as one people united by resilience, hope, and a common destiny.
Prof. Ize-Iyamu said the anniversary offered an opportunity for sober reflection on the country’s journey since independence and a chance to renew collective commitment to building the Nigeria of people’s dreams.
“At UBTH, we take pride in being part of this national journey. As a foremost teaching hospital, we remain dedicated to pushing the frontiers of medical research, innovation, and clinical excellence. Every patient treated, every student trained, and every life touched reflects our contribution to the progress of our beloved nation,” she stated.
The CMD further assured that UBTH would continue to serve as a beacon of healing, knowledge, and service to humanity, while emphasizing the hospital’s commitment to safeguarding the health of Nigerians.
She expressed hope that the 65th Independence anniversary would inspire unity, sacrifice, and renewed patriotism among citizens, adding that faith in a healthier, stronger, and brighter Nigeria must remain alive.
