Ossiomo Power Condemns Breach of Court Order by CCETC, Reaffirms Commitment to Rule of Law, Service Excellence

The management of Ossiomo Power Company has condemned what it described as a flagrant violation of a subsisting court order by the China Civil Engineering and Construction Company (CCETC), reaffirming its commitment to the rule of law, protection of its assets, and continued service delivery to customers.

In a statement signed by the company’s Deputy General Manager, Engr. Francis Ekwe, and made available to journalists in Benin City, Ossiomo Power emphasized that it would continue to adopt lawful measures to protect its infrastructure and maintain peaceful coexistence within the bounds of the law.

According to the statement, a valid court order issued on September 11, 2025, expressly restrains CCETC from using the 33KV line and gas infrastructure owned by Ossiomo Power Company. However, in a clear disregard for the law, CCETC allegedly invaded the Ossiomo gas plant on October 5, 2025, illegally opened the valve, switched on their engines, and began supplying power through Ossiomo’s 33KV line and gas facilities located in Ologbo community, Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Area of Edo State.

Engr. Ekwe stated that the company “remains consistent and unequivocal in its respect for judicial authority and the rule of law,” stressing that Ossiomo Power “will not be drawn into any unlawful acts or actions contrary to subsisting court directives.”

While urging the public and relevant authorities to take note of CCETC’s alleged illegal incursion, the management appealed for calm, assuring that Ossiomo Power remains focused on restoring uninterrupted 24-hour electricity supply to customers connected to its 33KV line.

The statement further called on CCETC to immediately vacate the premises and cease all unauthorized operations, even as the company explores lawful channels to enforce the court’s decision and protect its operational integrity.

Ossiomo Power reaffirmed its unwavering dedication to Edo State’s industrial and economic growth, assuring stakeholders that it will continue to operate transparently and responsibly in line with its vision for sustainable energy development.
