No Violation of Court Order at Osiomo Park — Company... Clarifies CCETC Ossiomo Power Company Limited, the owner of Power Plant, not a party to suit

BENIN CITY — Jiangsu Communication Clean Energy Technology Company Limited (JIANGSU CCETC) has described the court order issued against it in relation to activities at the Osiomo Industrial Park, as seeking to enforce an impossibility since the company has no staff or operational presence within the park.

The company’s spokesperson, Barrister Anayo Mbah, made this clarification in Benin City while reacting to media reports alleging that JIANGSU CCETC had invaded the Osiomo facility.

According to him, the court order was directed specifically at JIANGSU CCETC and not CCETC Ossiomo Power Company Limited, noting that both entities are distinct and separate.

He stressed that CCETC Ossiomo Power Company Limited is not a party to the case currently before the court.

“The order is against JIANGSU CCETC, not CCETC Ossiomo Power Company Limited,” Mbah said.

“JIANGSU CCETC does not have any staff or presence in the industrial park, so the order was made to enforce an impossibility.”

He explained that all the staff and contractors operating within the Osiomo Industrial Park work for CCETC Ossiomo Power Company Limited or its contractors, which is a separate legal entity not involved in the suit.

“Since CCETC Ossiomo is not a party to the proceedings, the order cannot be enforced against it or any of its employees and contractors,” he added.

Mbah further disclosed that JIANGSU CCETC has filed a response in court to vacate the order and to stay proceedings, in view of the ongoing arbitration between the parties as provided for in the joint venture agreement.

He urged the public to disregard any misleading reports linking JIANGSU CCETC to alleged illegal activities at the Osiomo facility, maintaining that the company remains committed to due process and lawful business practices in Nigeria.
