Ossiomo power apologizes over prolonged outage, assures restoration soon

BENIN CITY - The Management of Ossiomo Power has apologized to its customers over the power outage being experienced across its service areas since Monday, September 1, 2025.

The company said the outage was caused by a major technical fault at its generation facility. 

It explained that the requisite equipment and accessories needed to fix the problem had been procured and were already undergoing installation at the site.

In a statement signed by the Deputy General Manager, Engr. Francis Ekwe, on Thursday, September 4, Ossiomo Power assured customers that its team of engineers was on ground working to ensure quick installation and restoration of electricity supply.

“We humbly appeal to all our customers to bear with us as the equipment, when finally installed, will lead to improved performance of our power generation, transmission and distribution,” the statement said.

The company further urged patience, assuring that supply would be restored as soon as possible.

Nigeria and Africa must return to the use of clay vessels for cooking, eating and drinking if the continent is to tackle rising public health challenges and reduce billions spent on disease treatment, a university don has said.
