Prof. Ize-Iyamu holds thanksgiving as UBTH CMD... Gov. Okpebholo, Speaker Agbebaku, top dignitaries grace service in Benin

It was celebration and gratitude to God on Sunday as family, friends, and associates joined the Chief Medical Director (CMD) of the University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH), Prof. (Mrs.) Idia Ize-Iyamu, at a special thanksgiving service in Benin City to mark her appointment as the 7th CMD of the institution.

The event, which drew dignitaries from across the state and beyond, was graced by Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, alongside top government functionaries, chieftains of the All Progressives Congress (APC), business leaders, clergy of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), and staff and students of UNIBEN and UBTH.

Delivering a sermon titled “From Glory to Glory," Prof. Iyasen Dabor, Pastor-in-Charge, RCCG Zone Trinity Sanctuary, said that the life of Prof. Ize-Iyamu and her family reflected the abundant blessings of God.

He charged the congregation to serve God diligently, assuring that His grace and glory would continue to manifest in their lives.

According to him, UBTH was fortunate to have Prof. Ize-Iyamu as CMD, stressing that “the glory of God will be upon UBTH, and the hospital will attract international helpers under your watch.”

In her remarks, Prof. Ize-Iyamu expressed gratitude to God for His mercies in her life and career, noting that her elevation within the year, from her appointment as Dean, School of Dentistry, UNIBEN, in the first half of 2025, to her emergence as CMD of UBTH on August 7, 2025 was made possible only by divine grace.

Her husband, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, commended Governor Okpebholo for his support in ensuring her appointment, describing it as a testament to the Governor’s commitment to merit and service delivery.
