PRP Candidate Pledges to Transform Edo Using Natural Resources

The Candidate of the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) in the September 21, 2024, Edo governorship election, Mrs. Patience Ndidi Key, has disclosed her commitment to leveraging the abundant natural resources of the state to build an enviable Edo State.

In a chat with newsmen in Benin City, she expressed her confidence in her potential to add value to the state. She also conveyed her disappointment over the state's regression under past administrations, which she believes has compromised the welfare of the people.

"There is hunger in the land and this hunger leads to anger; anger leads to agitation and other things. It takes a visionary leader to address this," she stated.

Mrs. Key assured that her administration would diversify the economy, leverage the liberalization of the power sector to improve the state's power infrastructure, and prioritize human capital development to foster a welfarist state.

She remained optimistic that her gender would not impede her ability to deliver quality governance for Edo State.

Nigeria and Africa must return to the use of clay vessels for cooking, eating and drinking if the continent is to tackle rising public health challenges and reduce billions spent on disease treatment, a university don has said.
