NBA Benin Honors Edo NUJ Chairman with Distinguished Service Award

The Nigeria Bar Association (NBA) Benin branch has honored the Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Edo State Council, Comrade Festus Alenkhe, with a Distinguished Service Award for his significant contributions to society through his crime reporting.

Presenting the award plaque, the Chairman of the NBA, Benin branch, Barr. Nosa Edo-Osagie, highlighted that Alenkhe was selected for the award after a thorough evaluation of his contributions to the community. 

Edo-Osagie noted that Alenkhe stood out among other candidates due to his exceptional professionalism in reporting crime, both within and outside Nigeria.

In his acceptance speech, Comrade Alenkhe expressed gratitude to the NBA Benin branch for recognizing his efforts. 

He remarked that the award, especially from such a reputable professional body, would motivate him to continue contributing to societal development by combating crime. 

Emphasized the collaborative efforts between the NBA and NUJ in addressing societal issues and ensuring a society free from crime and intimidation, Alenkhe assured that NUJ would sustain the collaboration, even with the incoming NBA Chairman 

also praised the legal profession for its role in fighting crime through legal defense and for upholding justice and the rule of law.
