UNIBEN Vice Chancellor lauds Edo NUJ EXCO for reforming journalism

BENIN CITY - The Vice Chancellor, University of Benin (UNIBEN), Prof. Lilian Salami has lauded the leadership of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Edo State Council for reforming journalism practice in the state.

Speaking when the Executive Officers of the union led by its Chairman , Comrade Festus Alenkhe paid her a courtesy visit in Benin City, the UNIBEN Vice Chancellor said that the current Edo NUJ executive has brought professionalism to journalism.

According to her, since the administration came onboard, ethical consideration has been given priority attention. 

She lauded the union for supporting the University in the publicity of its activities, saying that the team spirit in the NUJ exco was eventful.

Earlier, the Chairman , Nigeria Union Of Journalists,  Edo state council,  Comrade Festus Alenkhe had told the Vice Chancellor that the visit was to identify with her on her laudable achievements in the University so far. 

He commended the cordial relationship existing between the union and the UNIBEN authority and therefore sued for its sustainance. 

Comrade Alenkhe particularly identified some completed and ongoing projects in the university and urged the Vice Chancellor not to relent.    

He lauded the palliative provided by the University authority for staff of the institution in the wake of the current economic crunch in the country.
