The Caretaker Committee Chairman of the Labour Party (LP) in Edo State, Hon Elizabeth Ativie has advised those causing division in the party to have a rethink and work for the progress of the party so as to win more laurels.
At a press briefing in Benin City on Tuesday, Ativie said the party has recorded several achievements in recent times for which the National Chairman of the party, Barr. Julius Abure deserves to be applauded.
According to her, "Under his leadership in the party, we now have a Governor, National and state Assembly members in the Labour Party."
She described the invaders of the Abuja office of Labour Party as sponsored persons who do not wish the party well.
"Those protesters were hired to undermine the Labour Party as they were rented from nearby market in Abuja.
"We, the leaders and members of the Labour Party in Edo State headed by my humble self, Rt. Hon. Mrs. Elizabeth Ativie are strongly behind Barrister Julius Abure, our indefatigable, articulate and vibrant National Chairman," she said
Ativie expressed the party's readiness to prosecute the upcoming governorship election which has Barrister Olumide Akpata as the party's governorship candidate.
