Edo, Ondo Polls: LPPMC Coordinator mobilises support for LP victory
The National Coordinator of Labour Party Progressive Members Congress (LPPMC), Dr Kingsley Okundaye has called on all stakeholders of Labour Party (LP) in Edo state and members of the Obidient family to rally round the national leadership of the party to form a united front in ensuring that that the party wins the forthcoming governorship elections in Edo and Ondo States.
The governorship elections in Edo and Ondo States are scheduled for September and November 2024 respectively.
In a statement made available to newsmen in Benin City, Dr Okundaye said that members of LPPMC are ready to complement any commitment that would engender the required victories for LP in the two states.
Dr Okundaye pleaded with all parties to "withdraw their pending cases in court, imbibe the spirit of patriotism and sportsmanship, sheath their swords and give peace a chance," saying that "there must be an end to litigation."
He said that "LPPMC is open and willing to partner with the national and state leadership of the party to engage in swift, comprehensive membership drive across the nation," while appealing to the leadership of the party to engage in an unbaised harmonisation of fragmented membership structures at all levels towards building a stronger, united, and peaceful party across the nation.
According to Dr Okundaye, "with the ruling by the Appeal Court in Abuja, our job is now made a whole lot easier in fostering the much touted peace," and therefore congratulated the National Chairman of LP, Comrade Julius Abure and his national leadership for the victory.
