Edo 2024: APC members fault declaration of Okpebholo as candidate

A section of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Edo State has faulted the declaration of Hon Monday Okpebholo as the candidate of the party for the September 2024 governorship election.

The group led by one Harrison Okpamen during a protest match to the Press Centre of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Edo State Council said that the declaration of Okpebholo as the party's candidate did not reflect the wishes of the APC members during the primary elections.

Accordingly, the group, "Our prayer is that the injustice perpetrated by the Governor Otu committee be set aside by the party and Hon Dennis Idahosa be rightfully declared winner."

Nigeria and Africa must return to the use of clay vessels for cooking, eating and drinking if the continent is to tackle rising public health challenges and reduce billions spent on disease treatment, a university don has said. Delivering the 134th Inaugural Lecture of Ambrose Alli University (AAU), Ekpoma, Edo State, Professor Emmanuel Eghe Egbon, a scholar of Analytical and Environmental Chemistry, urged Nigerians to embrace clay as a multifunctional earth material that promotes healthier living and sustainable communities.
