Owere Dickson Imasogie not Edo South PDP Leader, says Orobosa Omo-Ojo
BENIN CITY - A Chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Edo State, Hon Orobosa Omo-Ojo has raised concerns over the conduct and utterances of Owere Dickson Imasogie, a former Chairman of the party in Edo South Senatorial District.
In a statement in Benin City, Omo-Ojo said that Imasogie is not the Chairman in Edo South Senatorial District and as such, lacks the capacity to speak for the party.
Orobosa Omo-Ojo described the statement ascribed to Imasogie during a political gathering in Benin City as a personal opinion as he (Imasogie) is free to endorse any aspirant, but certainly not on behalf of Edo South leaders.
According to Omo-Ojo, Edo South Senatorial Chairman remains Nosa Ogieva-Okunbor Esq, while calling on Imasogie to desist from parading himself as the leader of the senatorial district
The PDP leader condemned in strong terms, attempts by Imasogie to claim that he has the authority to endorse any aspirant on behalf of the Edo South PDP.
"The general public should please be mindful of statements in the manner Owere Dickson Imasogie has spoken. Such is capable of polarising the PDP, which needs healing at this time.
"The Peoples Democratic Party is one big family and recent attempts by some lazy politicians across the state, to resort to 'cheating' endorsement stands condemned, just as their proponents," Omo-Ojo said.
It would be recalled that Imasogie had endorsed an aspirant where he was quoted to have said , "I have endorsed him and will take the message back to my people." Owere Dickson Imasogie had said.
