EFCC has Zero tolerance for corruption - Chairman

BENIN CITY - The Executive Chairman of Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Mr Ola Olukoyede has said that the commission would continue to professionalism its operations in order to ensure zero tolerance for all forms of corruption.
According to him, "Only through professionalism and adherence to the rule of law will the Commission be able to contribute to economic growth by restoring investors confidence in our economy."
Mr Olukoyede was represented by the Benin Zonal Director of the commission, Mr Kanu Idagu
In his address after a Road Walk Against Corruption as part of activities to mark the 2023 International Anti-Corruption Day in Benin City, he said that the commission would ensure that the right things are done at all times.
While urging every EFCC operative to be more diligent and resourceful on their assigned tasks, he said that "My leadership will punish infractions traceable to unethical practices."
He xpressed EFCC's determination to continue to play its role in the fight against corruption as every threat to the development of the nation will be destroyed.
As a member of the global community, he noted that EFCC would prioritize collaboration and synergy with local and foreign law enforcement agencies and ensure strict adherence to the 'rule of law as the absolute minimum in all activities of the commission.'
The EFCC boss acknowledged that corruption is a threat to the growth and development of individuals and nations, hence nations are united in addressing the scourge.
The theme of this year's International Anti-Corruption Day is "UNCAC @ 20: Uniting the World Against Corruption."
