Funeral for Esogban of Benin begins Oct 5

The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Edo State Council invites members of the union and other journalists in the state to the burial ceremony of the Esogban and Odionwere of Benin and a veteran journalist, Chief David Edebiri which begins on Thursday October 5, 2023 with a Service of Songs at his residence, No 3 Ogiesoba Avenue, Off Airport Road, Benin City at 3pm and Night of Tribute at Marquee, Edo Hotel, GRA, Benin City beginning at 7pm.

Social dance and entertainment of guests will hold on Saturday October 7, 2023 at Marquee, Edo Hotel, GRA, Benin City beginning at 1pm

On Sunday October 8, 2023, there will be an interdenominational Thanksgiving Service at his residence at noon, Izakhue at 4pm and Night dance from 8pm.

The last night dance of the burial ceremony will hold Thursday October 12, 2023 at his residence, while the ceremony will climax with Isuerhanfua and visit by in-laws and various groups on Friday October 13, 2023

Return to clay vessels 'll save Nigeria billions in healthcare - Don

Nigeria and Africa must return to the use of clay vessels for cooking, eating and drinking if the continent is to tackle rising public health challenges and reduce billions spent on disease treatment, a university don has said. Delivering the 134th Inaugural Lecture of Ambrose Alli University (AAU), Ekpoma, Edo State, Professor Emmanuel Eghe Egbon, a scholar of Analytical and Environmental Chemistry, urged Nigerians to embrace clay as a multifunctional earth material that promotes healthier living and sustainable communities.
