WSO to honour Alenkhe as 'SafERR Africa Ambassador' Nov 8

BENIN CITY - The World Safety Organisation (WSO) is set to honour the Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Edo State Council, Comrade Festus Alenkhe as a '2023 WSO SafERR Africa Ambassador.'

The decoration ceremony will hold in Lagos on Wednesday November 8, 2023 during the World Safety Organisation (WSO) SafERR Africa Investiture/Summit and Award event with the theme, " HSSE: Past, Present and Future

A letter dated September 5, 2023 which conveyed the notice of the decoration was signed by Dr Soji Olalokun, the Country Director, WSO, Nigeria and Ambassador Wilson Arikpo, the Governor General, SafERR Africa Ambassador.                              

The World Safety Organisation (WSO), with presence in over 100 countries across the world, is an international body that encourages safety in all spheres of life.

Return to clay vessels 'll save Nigeria billions in healthcare - Don

Nigeria and Africa must return to the use of clay vessels for cooking, eating and drinking if the continent is to tackle rising public health challenges and reduce billions spent on disease treatment, a university don has said. Delivering the 134th Inaugural Lecture of Ambrose Alli University (AAU), Ekpoma, Edo State, Professor Emmanuel Eghe Egbon, a scholar of Analytical and Environmental Chemistry, urged Nigerians to embrace clay as a multifunctional earth material that promotes healthier living and sustainable communities.
